Bamboo identification?

What is the general latin name to cover most types of Bamboo found growing in the UK? I found one in a woodland - it has very narrow green leaves (not striped or variagated). Wondering what genus it is likely to belong to.

Reply:There are hundreds if not thousands of varieties of bamboo growing not just in the UK but worldwide. Your best bet for identification would be to search the bamboo forums and/or websites where the true bamboo experts hang out.
