Bamboo is growing near well, will roots go into hole in caseing?

The well has a brass fitting so the pipe will slide out when

pulling pump for repairs, Most holes cut into caseing isn't perfect and the brass fitting has rubber gaskets to prevent stuff from going into well. Are bamboo roots agressive to grow past the rubber gaskets. Do these gaskets detorate over time? Well must be about 20 years old.

It has been my experience with bamboo that it will grow rapidly and without concern for pipes, i.e. it will not apologize for breaking your pipes as it winds it's way around them because of the water it seeks. And once it begins to grow, it is almost impossible to kill it off. Short of burning it out, not a lot will rid your yard of it.
