Growing Bamboo in a pot ?
Bamboo is a colony plant it uses energy from exsisting plant to reproduce more plants. Give it regular sunlight and water.

If the colony starts growing, plant it in a spacious yard.
Reply:basically just water, possibly plant food.

We have one that we got in China Town, and we've had it for a couple years now. it just keeps getting bigger and bigger.
Reply:Healthy soil (use plantfood) lots of room, and lots of water. The bigger the pot, the better. If you cut down the old growth, the new growth will grow much taller and stronger.
Reply:Years ago I had a clay pot of bamboo growing on a stand behind my couch. This was not what is commonly called "Lucky Bamboo." It was the real thing. One night while entertaining the pot just flew apart in a thousand shards-the plant had destroyed the container. Moral of the story-use a very large pot!
Reply:Give it time it will get bigger, try a larger pot.
Reply:A sidedressing of manure will help bamboo grow tall and healthy.
