I bought a lightweight bamboo cane for use in theatrical performance, and when I got it I noticed the cane part was somewhat flexible, with a few "skin-deep" cracks at the top of the cane handle. Anyways, I heard that bamboo is extremely tough and durable and strong, is this true, will my bamboo cane not break under weight even though it seems like it?

that particular cane may break under weight, but bamboo is generally very tough and light. depends on the diameter of the cane, the thicker the better. if it is very flexible it will eventually break.
