my bamboo is dieing. does it need bamboo need sunlight ?

you mean 'lucky bamboo'? this is a draceana plant that has been rooted in water-you need to keep fresh water for the roots at all times since there is no dirt in the gravel-keep it at least near a window if there is no sunlight.
if the stem is all yellow and it stinks when you smell it close up then it has rotted-it is a goner.
these things don't last forever they are rooted cuttings growing in just water-you eventually have to plant a cutting if you want to be a healthy plant-it's just a gimmick
Reply:water it, it is a grass after all. but yes it needs some sun and a lot of space. It grows real fast once it get's started.
