Growing a Bamboo plant at my desk?

I have a bamboo plant and the woman who i bought it from said its ok as long as there is a "little bit of light". My desk gets hardly any natural light and everyone elses desk plants grow fine yet they aren't bamboo. Do you think it would survive?

Growing a Bamboo plant at my desk?
yes, but put it as close to the lights as you can.. Ie on a shelf or something..

bamboo works best with natural light, but can work inside with little sunlight as long as it is watered and getting rays from the lights inside
Reply:I have some bamboo that the owner before me tried to plant to screen neighbors. It does not do well because it has full shade and only direct sun during early morning or late evening. No, I think they need FULL SUN and decent soil in order to make one of those Bamboo walls. If that is what you want, drop the bamboo idea and think about a clinging vine plant. There are several that will make you privacy or whatever you're looking for - some bloom and smell nice, too.

See your local expert at the nursery - heck, don't cost nothing.
Reply:Bamboo as with all grass, some do well in low light and others will soon die. Read up on the variety you have and determine it's light needs.good luck
